      Pursuing a childhood dream

Recognizing my passion for painting as a child, my parents would encourage me,

introduce me to their artist friends and take me to museums and galleries.

Although I had an appreciation for the abilities and techniques of the old masters,

I found myself drawn more to the impressionists, post impressionists, and the early modern art that followed. I sensed a certain zeal and passion the painters showed through their artwork and found the vibrant use of color, brush strokes, and impasto texture inspiring.

Some of the most influential artists to me that I had the opportunity to study under  were Joseph Mugnaini, who came out of retirement briefly to have summer classes at Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, CA; 1970 and 71,    Richard Budelis, a associate professor at Pratt Art Institute in NY and  at Forman School in Litchfield, CT.  Deno Sider, An impressionist painter in Los Angeles CA. and Lyle Ward, Professor at University of the Ozarks, Clarksville, AR.
